Answer – You can contact the Volunteer Centre with a description of the roles you have available and how many volunteers you need. We will advertise your vacancies at the Volunteer Centre and on our website. We will then meet the prospective volunteers and discuss the roles with them before placing them with you.
Answer – We will do our best to recruit volunteers for you. It may take time to find the most suitable volunteers for the roles you offer but we will continue to advertise your opportunities for as long as necessary.
Answer – Volunteers will be asked questions about their skills and interests when they apply for a volunteer role and at the interview. We can offer some training, and they may wish to take part in training your organization may offer.
Answer – As volunteers are not bound by a contract the role can be ended at any time. Try discussing with the volunteer things which are not going well or need improvement, we can offer support if necessary.
Answer – If the role requires working with finances or vulnerable people a DBS or Enhanced DBS will be carried out unless your organisation runs its own DBS checking service.
Answer – Training will be available for organisations covering best practice when using volunteers. There will also be a general induction training for prospective volunteers.
