The Big Help Out

The Big Help Out which was launched by the King last year returns from 7th to 9th June. This is a great opportunity to give volunteering a go, explore what’s on offer and sign up for some taster sessions. Research shows that volunteering is good for wellbeing so take a look at what’s on offer and get in touch with us, there really is something for everyone.

Staff Wellbeing Fair

The Volunteer Centre recently attended a Staff Wellbeing Fair at HMP Highpoint. Lots of staff members were interested to find out about volunteering and took information on organisations needing help. Several registered with us and, as usual there was lots of interest in volunteering with animals!

A huge thanks to all volunteers working on the new Scout & Guide building, and to local businesses for donating supplies and appliances. It is great to see the building almost ready to open for leaders to offer opportunities to young people again. Extra hands are needed this Saturday from 10am to finish the cladding and fascias and tidy up after the drainage work. If you can help please go along to the site on Saturday, you will be so welcome.
