Volunteering News August

July 2023

It was great to see lots of people at the Big Day Out a few weeks ago.

There are lots of volunteering opportunities still waiting to be filled this summer. If you have a little or a lot of time to give please get in touch.

There’s still time to volunteer for Haverhill in the Park!

Haverhill in the Park is a three-day family music festival which takes place on the Recreation Ground in the town centre. The Town Council requires a
number of volunteers to work the festival alongside the Council team in order to safely be able to run the event. While this is a volunteering shift we are able to offer you a food voucher to use at one of the concessions.

Please see the slots we have on offer below:
Friday 18th August – 5-10.30pm
Saturday 19th August – 11am-5.30pm
Saturday 19th August – 5-10.30pm
Sunday 20th August – 11am-6.30pm (and to help pack down to 8pm, if possible)

Young people aged 16 and over can volunteer and will receive supervision and support throughout the day.

If you are interested please contact Haverhill Town Council email gary.wilson@haverhill-tc.gov.uk or pop in and see us at the Haverhill Arts Centre.

Could you spare a little time to introduce someone to the benefits of using their phone, ipad or laptop to do simple tasks such as filling in forms, online shopping or keeping in touch with loved ones?

Please contact Digital Champions on the number given, or the Volunteer Centre if you .can help.

Friday between 10am and 4pm.

The Voluntary Network

The Voluntary network urgently require Befrienders in Haverhill to visit people who are isolated or to have a weekly chat over the telephone. Please contact us for more details.
