Volunteering News July

July 2023

Lots of people visited our stand at the Haverhill Show on 1st July to find out more about volunteering and some of the opportunities on offer. Some have registered with us and started in their new roles.

If you can spare some time to help others take a look at the following roles still available.

SOCIAL MEDIA & PHOTOGRAPHY VOLUNTEER: We are looking for people who can create content for our online platforms on Facebook and Instagram.

PORTABLE APPLIANCE TESTER: We would fund the volunteer to undertake this qualification to be able to test household electrical equipment to ensure that it runs safely or to safely dispose of it. All costs covered.

TILL VOLUNTEER: A role of serving customers using the till and good customer service. No experience necessary.

GENERAL SHOP WORKER: An all-rounder role the volunteer would learn the till, customer service, stock processing and all back of house functions. No experience necessary.

STOCKROOM VOLUNTEER: The volunteer would learn all things back of house within charity retail, including gift aid, pricing, stock rotation and more. No experience necessary.

DEPARTMENT COORDINATOR: The volunteer would take charge of a specific department, anything from furniture, electricals, books, jewellery, or vinyl. They would manage a steady supply of new items, research the item if needed, learn pricing, and manage stock loads, analyse sales and react if needed. No experience necessary
