Gardeners

It’s that time of year again when our gardens need some TLC to bring them back to life ready for the summer months. If you could spare a few hours to do this for an elderly person, please contact us. If you or an elderly person you know would benefit from a bit of help to tidy the garden, please get in touch.

Haverhill Scouts and Guides

As the project moves into the final phase we are looking for additional support from a volunteer Plasterer. Can you help us please? If you could offer some time and your skills please contact Abi email abi_britten@yahoo.com

Our Special Friends

A charity that provides a range of support services to help those in need to continue to enjoy contact with animals during illness, bereavement and other crises. Volunteers are currently needed to walk dogs in Haverhill. Also, friendly dogs and their owners are needed to visit people in their homes to bring animal companionship into their lives.

Home Visiting Volunteer

Home-visiting volunteers are an essential part of the Home-Start in Suffolk service – providing emotional and practical support to a family in the family’s own home, once a week. As a volunteer you will be carefully matched with a family, then introduced by one of our experienced staff team. A unique support package will be devised based on the needs of the family, and a day and time for each weekly visit will be agreed to suit both you and the family.

Signposters and Listeners

Required to welcome people into The Link and use a laptop to access our database to look up services/clubs etc as requested. You will also be required to answer telephone enquiries and keep a log of enquires. The database is simple to use and full training will be given. You will be working alongside ‘Listener’ volunteers who will be offering a listening ear to any adults who want to talk.
